2018 Fund Distribution is Underway for United Way of the Northern Shenandoah Valley
13 April 2018 News
The United Way of the Northern Shenandoah Valley‘s Community Impact Grant Program focuses resources on the priority health and human care needs that matter most to the people of our communities. The intent of this program is to respond to local priority needs as established through the United Way Community Needs Assessment, including: education, income and health, and to specifically fund programs and initiatives that are proving to make a difference and impact locally.
Program grant requests are undertaken annually by the Fund Distribution Committee, a group compiled of volunteers from various backgrounds, demographics and localities within United Way’s catchment area. These volunteers are tasked with carefully auditing requests and making recommendations to the board of directors for funding.
This year, grant requests increased 29.6%, bringing the total requested amount to $1.15 million dollars. United Way NSV will announce Impact Grant recipients mid-May.
