Salvation Army of Winchester to Receive $10,000 Donation

9 February 2018 Community News

As part of Belk’s 130th anniversary, the retailer is giving back to hometowns across their 16‐state footprint by working with organizations who strengthen their communities. In Winchester, Va., Belk is donating $10,000 in hopes of making a significant impact on the Salvation Army of Winchester’s family shelter, a cause that is a key tenet of Belk’s outreach program – Belk: Project Hometown.

The Salvation Army meets human need wherever, whenever, and however they can by helping disaster survivors, providing shelter, equipping families, and more. For neighbors served by The Salvation Army, the organization assesses needs, builds programs and ultimately invests in their people. Belk’s $10,000 donation will allow The Salvation Army to strengthen a community both organizations call home.

The $10,000 check will be presented to the Salvation Army of Winchester on Tuesday, February 20th, at 11 a.m. The event will take place at 300 Fort Collier Rd. Winchester, Va. 22603.
