Winchester Police Department’s “Cookies With a Cop” To Be Held

31 January 2018 Community News

The Winchester Police Department’s Cookies with a Cop program will take place on Thursday, February 1st from 10:00-11:30 a.m. Cookies with a Cop will be held in Jim Barnett Park in the Active Living Center’s Social Hall in partnership with the Shenandoah Area Agency on Aging (SAAA).

Cookies with a Cop is an extension of Winchester Police Department’s “with a Cop” event series initiated last year (i.e. Coffee with a Cop and Color with a Cop). This event aims to connect officers and WPD staff with local seniors while decorating Valentine’s cookies in a fun and familiar environment. Cookies with a Cop is not open to the public and is being offered specifically for SAAA participants.

SAAA is a “non-profit organization that provides high quality services and opportunities that enhance the dignity and independence of seniors and promote their contributions to the community.” Monday through Thursday SAAA offers activities and meals at the Active Living Center in Jim Barnett Park as well as a Meals on Wheels service. For more information about SAAA, visit http://www.shenandoahaaa.com/.
