Front Royal Hears One-way Proposal for East Main

Part of East Main Street in Front Royal could become one-way under a plan revived by some downtown officials.
Developer Robert MacDougal discussed the idea during a Front Royal Town Council work session on Wednesday. MacDougal’s TransForm firm owns property on East Main.
Under the plan, only eastbound traffic would be allowed on East Main between Royal Avenue and Chester Street. East Main would remain two-way between Chester and Commerce Avenue near the Gazebo.
The plan has come up in the past. The proposal could potential expand parking downtown through the use of diagonal parking spaces. The Town Council heard the proposal at a work session and no action was taken.
