In an effort to update local government on Shenandoah County Public Schools’ programs and practices, Superintendent Mark Johnston organized a series of tours to showcase schools to county leaders. County Supervisors and School Board members visited staff and students at Central High School, W.W. Robinson Elementary School, and Peter Muhlenberg Middle School last wednesday. Later in the week on friday, leaders visited Signal Knob Middle School, Sandy Hook Elementary School, and Strasburg High School. The goal was not only to highlight the beneficial activities of students and teachers, but also to draw attention to problems that need to be addressed.
Frederick County Schools spotlighted the drivers of special ed bus 197 on their Facebook page. Maury and Betty Sue McGrew are a husband and wife team, and take pride in transporting the kids on their bus safely each day to school.
