Valley League Baseball scores from last night: Winchester Royals at Covington was rescheduled; Waynesboro beat Strasburg: 8-5; Purcellville outscored Front Royal: 7-2; Woodstock fell to Charlottesville: 4-1; and, Staunton beat Harrisonburg: 3-1.

Tonight’s matchups: Strasburg travels to Charlottesville; Winchester hosts Harrisonburg; Woodstock heads to Covington; and, Purcellville is at Waynesboro.

The Nationals pounded out 15 hits yesterday on the way to an 11-2 victory over Tampa Bay. Anthony Rendon led the way with 4 hits for the Nats who put the game away early with a 5-run first inning. Tanner Roark got the win for the Nationals who are off today before starting a weekend series on Friday in DC against the Giants.

 

 

The Orioles swept their 2-game series with the Mets with a 1-0 win at Citi Field in New York yesterday. Dylan Bundy threw 7 innings of 3-hit, shutout ball in the win. The Mets, after their 11-1 start, are now 27-32 on the season. The Birds are in Toronto tonight at 7:05pm.

The Golden State Warriors now have an almost insurmountable 3-games to none lead in the NBA Finals with a 110-102 win in Cleveland. Kevin Durant had 43 for Golden State who can wrap up the NBA title on Friday in Cleveland.

The Washington Capitals can win their first Stanley Cup title in their 43 year history of the team with a win tonight in Vegas. The Caps lead the Golden Knights 3 games to one in the best of seven series. The puck drops at 8pm tonight on our sister station, Sports Radio 1450.
