The Latest on VA Primaries in the Shenandoah Valley

12 June 2018 News

Today, Virginians will vote in key primaries across the commonwealth.

The Shenandoah Valley is home to primaries in two congressional districts. For Democrats in the 10th District, State Sen. Jennifer Wexton, activist Alison Friedman, veteran Dan Helmer, former Obama staffer Lindsey Davis Stover, former federal prosecutor Paul Pelletier, and scientist Julia Biggins are all fighting for the chance to take on the chosen Republican nominee. Meanwhile, in the Valley’s Sixth District, Democrats Sergio Coppola, Jennifer Lewis, Peter Volosin and Charlotte Ann Moore are all in the running.

On the Republican side, 10th district incumbent Barbara Comstock faces a challenge from Shak Hill, and three candidates–Corey Stewart, Nick Freitas, and E. W. Jackson–are vying for the chance to compete for Senator Tim Kaine’s seat.

Voting percentages will begin to come in as precinct polls close across the Shenandoah Valley:
