Young Girl Rescued from Shenandoah River

During a family tubing trip on the Shenandoah River on June 18, a young girl had to be rescued from out of the water, in Clarke County. According to a member of Clarke County Fire and EMS, the 8 year old girl had to be pulled from the water after she got caught in the current. At around 3:15pm, the child was rescued from the water by her family and bystanders. She was then taken to Winchester Medical Center where her conditions were believed to be non life-threatening.

Boyce Volunteer Fire and Rescue Company, Clarke County Sheriff’s Office and Warren County Fire and Rescue responded to the incident. The incident occurred near John Mosby Highway (US 50) and Swift Shoals Road.
