Federal, State, Local Officials Arrest 19 in Major Drug Bust

14 December 2018 Shenandoah County Front Royal/Warren County News

At the Shenandoah County General District Courthouse Thursday (12/14/2018), federal, state, and local officials announced the arrests of 19 individuals on federal drug-trafficking, firearm possession, and other charges.

The arrests were the result of a months-long, multi-agency investigation. An indictment charges 18 defendants with conspiring to distribute heroin and methamphetamine; some members trafficked over 1,000 grams of heroin and more than 500 grams of meth between January of 2016 and this December. Four defendants also face firearm charges, and one is charged with maintaining his 160 Shenandoah Street residence in Mount Jackson for the purpose of distributing drugs. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives worked with the RUSH Drug Task Force, the Northwest Virginia Regional Drug and Gang Task Force, and five different local law enforcement agencies named in a Thursday release: the Shenandoah County Sheriff’s Office, the Timberville Police Department, the Mount Jackson Police Department, the Woodstock Police Department, and the Front Royal Police Department.
