2020 Governor’s Summer Residential Program

The Virginia Department of Education has announced that the 2020 Governor’s Summer Residential Program for current tenth and eleventh grade students will include seven Summer Residential Governor’s Schools and five Governor’s Foreign Language Academies. These programs offer public, private, and home-schooled gifted students opportunities for intensive study in academics, foreign languages, mentorships, and visual and performing arts. Students may attend only one such program during their high school career. The academic programs include: agriculture; humanities; mathematics, science, & technology; mentorship in marine science; mentorship in engineering; mentorship in medicine and health sciences; and visual & performing arts (theater, instrumental music, vocal music, visual arts, and dance). Nomination forms may be obtained from your high school Director of Guidance. Nomination deadlines are:
November 1, 2019—Visual and Performing Arts
November 1, 2019—Foreign Language Academy
November 1, 2019—Academic or Mentorship Programs
November 1, 2019—Agriculture Program
