Shenandoah Valley Summer Music Festival concerts begin July 23.

Shows just added include cover band Classic Albums performing Fleetwood Mac’s Rumors Album and Phil Vassar with more shows still to be added.

Already scheduled at the Orkney Springs Festival Kansas, Four Tops, Black Violin and Nitty Gritty Dirt Band.

Tickets go on sale Monday at Musicfest.org.

VDOT seeks public input on Winchester’s portion of Rt. 7

traffic flow

The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) the City of Winchester and Winchester Frederick County Metropolitan Organization are seeking the public’s input in a study on Route 7 improvements.

Due to the number of crashes t he roadway has been identified as a potential for safety improvements.

Citizens are invited to review study materials here.

A public survey becomes available tomorrow May 14 here.

Front Royal Warren County EDA approves a resolution

Silent Falcon UAS Technologies

The Warren County Front Royal Economic Development Authority (EDA) and Warren County Board of Supervisors approved a resolution stating.

That Jennifer McDonald and the two corporations associated with her owe no less than $9 million to the EDA and the citizens of the community.

The judgment if approved by the courts will not be dischargeable in bankruptcy.

The resolution with support of the Warren county Board of Supervisors is a step forward toward restitution of misconduct.

Subaru of Winchester donates to Winchester SPCA

Subaru of Winchester presented the Winchester Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) with over $16,000.

The Share the Love Event form Subaru offers customers the chance to donate to a charity of their choice.

With every new purchase or lease $250 is given to a customer’s favorite charity.

Local Subaru dealers are allowed to elect to add to a local charity of their choice.

This is the fifth consecutive year Winchester Subaru elected the Winchester SPCA.

Winchester SPCA Executive Director Lavenda Denney called the funds a representation of the local Subaru dealerships commitment of their support.

She added that the funds will help ensure that homeless animals are provided the necessary service to prepare them for adoption.

Colonial Pipeline has restarted fuel supplies

Where it will take several days for deliveries to return to normal Colonial Pipeline has restarted.

The American Automobile Association (AAA) assures citizens that there is ample supply of fuel for the summer.

Right now it is a delivery system problem but steps are being taken to distribute faster by road, rail and ship.

Panic buying is what is draining supplies at this time.

We are being asked to not top off tanks unless at less than a half a tank.

We are asked not to store fuel at this time unless necessary.

SU ODAC Honors, Another Curly L For Nats, Dallas-Tampa To Open NFL Season

On the Shenandoah University Sports scene, sophomore attackman Chris Baker has been named third team All-ODAC for Men’s Lacrosse. Meanwhile, 2 Softball players, senior Allie Schey and sophomore Nikki Stone, were named to the All-ODAC third team. And, Women’s Volleyball’s Kate Poppo and Jillian Warter were named to the All-ODAC second and third team, respectively.

Bryce Harper went 3-for-5 against his former team as the Philadelphia Phillies beat the Washington Nationals for the second night in a row, this time 5-2. Starlin Castro had a 4-hit night for the Nats, who have now lost 7 of their last 8 games. The two teams wrap up their midweek series today. Air time is 12:35 on Sports Radio 1450.

Taijuan Walker twirled 7 innings of 1-run baseball as the Mets stopped the Orioles 7-1. The O’s are off today before starting a weekend series against the Yankees tomorrow.

And, Super Bowl champ Tampa Bay will open the 2021 NFL season against the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday, September 9th. The Washington Football Team will host the Los Angeles Chargers in their September 12 opener. And, the week-1 Monday night game has the Las Vegas Raiders hosting the Baltimore Ravens.
