Funeral arrangements for WCSO Deputy Dove

Maddox Funeral Home Front Royal reports that they will be handling the services for Warren County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO)Deputy Jesse Walker Dove.

The 31 one-year old’s family will receive friends on Wed. Dec. 7 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

The funeral service will be held Thurs. Dec. 8 at noon at the Riverton United Methodist Church in Front Royal.

Burial will take place at the Saint Stephens Cemetery in Strasburg with a fellowship meal hosted by the Front Royal Fire Department on Commerce Avenue following interment.

In lieu of flowers donations should be sent to Edward Jones Winchester with Wrenly Mae’s Education Fund written in the memo.

On Dec. 2 Nemaha County Kansas Authorities report responding to a capsized watercraft with one person on broad at lake Centralia.

After an extensive search it was determined that response was no longer a rescue but a recovery effort.

The body of WCSO Deputy Jesse W. Dove of Strasburg Virginia was recovered on Saturday Dec. 3.

Officer Dove arrived by funeral procession at Maddox Funeral Home yesterday shortly after 8 a.m.

VSP arrest an under age drinker involved in a fatal accident

The Virginia State Police (VSP) report by email the arrest of an under age drinker that was involved in a fatal accident in Rockingham County.

On Dec. 1 18-year-old Colton S. Trumbo of Harrisonburg was charged by VSP in an accident on North Mountain Road.

Trumbo was taken into custody without incident and charged with one felony count of Driving Under the Influence (DUI) DUI involuntary manslaughter.

He has also been charged with a felony count of DUI maiming and a felony count of child endangerment.

Trumbo has also been charged with a misdemeanor count of underage possession of alcohol, a misdemeanor count of driving on suspended license along with a failure to wear a seatbelt.

The Chevrolet Tahoe Trumbo was driving failed to maneuver a curve ran off the left side of the road and overturned multiple times.

One passenger in the vehicle died as a result of the accident he was an 18 year old from Timberville.

Another passenger a 14 year old male also from Timberville was treated for his injuries at UVA Medical Center.

Trumbo was treated for his injuries at UVA Medical Center and is currently being held without bond at Rockingham County Jail.

City of Winchester opens employee health clinic

The City of Winchester announced the opening of its city employee free medical clinic.

The goal of the clinic is to promote health, prevent diseases, provide a shorter easier path to care.

Through the clinic full time city employees can take advantage of no out of pocket costs, including co-pay health care.

The clinic will provide care for all city employees and their family members who are on the current city health plan.

The employee medical clinic is located at 33 East Boscawen Street Winchester.

That location was formerly the Old Town Winchester Welcome Center.
