FCSO seeks information on possible arson cases

The Fauquier County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) along with the Fauquier County Fire Marshal’s Office (FCFMO) is attempting to identify individuals in possible arson cases.

The subjects were involved in arson and destruction of property incidents in the Vint Hill area of Fauquier County.

The first incident occurred at the Vint Hill Barracks where the subjects are suspected of setting furniture on fire.

The second incident occurred in the Bludau Drive area where several windows were broken to gain entry.

Once inside the trio started a small fire and cut power to the building.

Amazon Web Services prepares to invest $35B in Virginia

Governor Glenn Youngkin announced Jan. 20, that Amazon Web Services plans to invest $35 billion into the state of Virginia by 2040.

The funds are to be used to establish multiple data center campuses across the Commonwealth.

The locations of the campuses will be determined at a later date with multiple locations being consider.

The expansion and investment is expected to bring at least 1,000 total new jobs across the Commonwealth.

Amazon Web Services is an Amazon.com Incorporated company who is already one of the largest private sector employers in the state of Virginia.

ACSO lockdown schools while serving a warrant

Augusta County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) report a lockdown of public schools while serving a warrant.

ACSO’s Sheriff Donald Smith confirmed that the holding of students was strictly a precautionary measure due to the nature of the arrest and proximity to the schools in Danville.

The ACSO’s SWAT Team executed the warrant against 22-year-old Marques Raeqwon Abbott who was arrested without incident around 3:30 p.m. Jan. 19.

The Danville Police Department obtained the warrant against Abbott for a case of malicious assault in which the victim suffered severe injuries.

Abbott is also charged with 3 counts of attempted malicious wounding.

Four counts of using a firearm in the commission of a felony and discharging said firearm in the commission of a felony into a public place causing injuries.

Thus, the precaution involving the schools.

Abbott was found in the Montague Terrace Apartment Complex near the schools and arrested without incident.
