Archie Manning named SABF Sports Marshal

The Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival announced that Archie Manning will serve as the Sports Marshal for this year’s events.

Archie Manning is the patriarch of a family who’s last name has become synonymous with football.

Archie played collegiately at Ole Miss where he was an All American Quarterback and had his #18 retired.

The New Orleans Saints selected him with the #2 overall pick in the 1971 NFL draft.

He went onto set numerous team passing records and was named the NFC MVP in 1978.

Manning was the first Saints player to be inducted into the Superdome Wall of Fame and in the Saints first class for the Ring of Honor.

After his playing career, Archie has impacted communities through his work fighting Cystic Fibrosis and with organizations like the Special Olympics and Boy Scouts.

Archie and his family continue to run one of the most prolific high school quarterback camps each summer, the Manning Passing Academy.

He will be a keynote speaker at the Sports Breakfast and ride in the Grand Feature Parade.
