I-81 Delays for Winchester Area Sunday
4 November 2017 News
Both northbound and southbound Interstate 81 drivers can expect brief delays early Sunday morning, November 5, during a series of “slow-roll” closures for utility work in Frederick County. They are scheduled to take place from 1:30 to 4:30 AM, between exit 313 (Routes 17/50/522) and exit 315 (Route 7) in the Winchester area.
Slow rolls create a gap in traffic that allows crews to perform needed work. Each slow roll is expected to last 10-12 minutes, and Virginia State Police will assist with traffic control throughout.
Traffic alerts and traveler information can be obtained by dialing 511, and are also available at http://www.511Virginia.org . The VDOT Customer Service Center can assist with reporting road hazards, asking transportation questions, or getting information related to Virginia’s roads; call 800-FOR- ROAD (800-367-7623) or use its mobile friendly website at https://my.vdot.virginia.gov/.
