ACSO investigate a school threat at BRCC

The Augusta County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) reports the investigation of a threat at Blue Ridge Community College (BRCC).

On January 30 ACSO was told that a student at BRCC received a disturbing phone call.

The student allegedly was told to get out of the cafeteria because it was about to be set on fire.

About an hour after that student left other students who overheard the information notified campus security.

The BRCC security team initiated a lockdown of several campus buildings.

After a thorough investigation by campus security and Augusta County Deputies nothing suspicious was found and the lockdown was lifted just after 1 that afternoon.

The student who allegedly received the initial call has been identified and the investigation into the incident continues.
