ACSO locks down Wilson Memorial High School

Augusta County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) reports the temporary lockdown of Wilson Memorial High School.

Authorities were notified of an incident involving a burglary and the report of a stolen gun in the Stuarts Draft area.

Investigators determined that two juveniles were involved in the burglary and may have been in possession of the gun.

One of the juveniles is a student at Wilson Memorial High School and was attending glasses that day May 18.

Out of an abundance of caution Wilson Memorial High School was placed on temporary lockdown as authorities searched for the stolen gun.

The weapon was not on school property and the student was found and interviewed.

Juvenile Court Services have been contacted regarding the incident with charges pending on both juveniles.

Authorities confirmed there was never any immediate danger to the school or the public in the incident which remains under investigation.
