Allen Sibert has announced that he will be seeking the Republican nomination for Frederick County Sheriff.
Sibert was joined by around 150 people Friday as he kicked off his race with an event at the Stonewall Ruritan Club. Born and raised in Warren County, Sibert spent years working for the Warren County Sheriff’s Office, and was appointed a narcotics investigator in 1994. By 2003, he was Division Commander of Investigations and Corrections there, and later helped launch the Northwest Virginia Regional Drug and Gang Task Force. He transitioned to the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office in 2004 before accepting the position of Major with the Winchester City Sheriff’s Office in 2013, where he remains working today as the Chief Deputy.
