Am. Red Cross reports a 20% drop in blood supplies

The American Red Cross has a major 6 hour blood drive scheduled for Fri. Aug. 12 at the Stephens City Volunteer Fire and Rescue Building.

The drive is titled Beef Up the Blood Supply and is sponsored by Gore’s Meats of Stephens City from noon to 6 p.m..

According to an American Red Cross report a drop in donations has occurred which has led to a 20 percent drop in supply.

At the Beef Up the Supply drive grilled burgers and Route 11 chips will be available for donors.

Donors will also become eligible for gift cards and cooler bags from Gore’s Meats.

Donors can give every 56 days with one donation capable of saving three lives.
