Amazon to Hold Hiring Event for Clear Brook Facility

Amazon will have a hiring event this Friday (7/27/18) for its distribution center in Clear Brook.
The event will last from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and will be held in the Eagle Board Room of the Our Health Campus building on North Cameron Street in Winchester. Amazon’s facility has been hiring since it returned to full-time operation on June 17, 2018. In all, it’s expected to create 1,000 new full-time associate positions; as of the end of June, the company still had 800 slots to fill.
This hiring event is sponsored by the Frederick County Department of Social Services; senior case specialist Sharon Harris was quoted as saying that it will be particularly beneficial to those in need of a job in order to receive Social Services’ financial assistance. Those hired Friday will receive a job that pays anywhere from $12.50 to $14 an hour with a raise every six months, as well as a full benefits package that includes medical, dental and vision insurance.
