Amtrak announces closures starting Tues.
Amtrak announced that the Northeast Region trains will end trips at Union Station on Tues. Jan. 19 and Wed. Jan. 20 due to the inauguration.
There will be no taxi or ride share services after Union Station.
Union Station will be closed Gallaudet Station is the closest open station on Tues. Jan. 19 and Wed. Jan. 20.Â
Commuters into Washington D.C. will need to be aware that several bridges and roads will also be closed starting 6 a.m. Tuesday Jan. 19 through 6 a.m. Thurs. Jan. 21.
Roads from Virginia into Washington D.C. will have multiple agencies enforcing inaugural security efforts.
Traffic will be diverted from I 66 eastbound to Route 110 exit 75.
Motorist and travelers are advised to plan ahead and avoid the area and use alternate routes.
