Applications sought for Frederick Board of Equalization, LFCC Board
The county is currently accepting applications to fill the vacancies.
The primary duty of the BOE is to hear appeals of real estate reassessment in the year the reassessment takes effect. Board members serve three-year terms. Citizens with background or experience in real estate (commercial and residential), farming, appraisal and contracting are encouraged to apply.
The county is also seeking someone to fill its vacant seat on the Lord Fairfax Community College Board. The board is responsible for assuring the college responds to the needs existing within its service region. Board members should be able to provide college presidents with guidance and insight from multiple perspectives, according to a news release from the county. Regular meetings will be held during the months of Sept., Nov., Feb., April and June.
Those interested in seeking appointment for either board may apply by returning a completed Informational Data Sheet to the Frederick County Administration office. The fillable form is found at https://www.fcva.us/Home/ShowDocument?id=8.
