Attempted Stabbing And Robbery In Frederick County

On January 4th, 2019 Frederick county Sheriffs Deputies responded to the 3500 block of Valley Pike for a report of an unknown adult male who boarded a Frederick County school bus. The adult male reportedly told the driver that he was being chased by someone who was attempting to stab him. The school bus was stopped while allowing students to board at approximately 07:30 am. The bus driver took appropriate measures in securing the safety of the children and removing the male subject from the school bus. The victim tells deputies upon their arrival, that he was chased by a male with a knife and had just been robbed. The victim stated that the attacker left in a red passenger car heading South on Valley Pike. As the investigation continued, surveillance cameras in the area captured the incident and assisted investigators with the identification of the attacker; later identified as Joseph David Dolly, II of Winchester, Virginia. Dolly was located later this same date and interviewed by Frederick County Sheriff’s Office Investigators. Dolly admitted to using a knife while demanding the victim turn over an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency. Dolly was later charged with robbery and transported to the Northwestern Regional Jail.
