Augusta County Authorities investigate a shooting of two

Augusta County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) reports an early morning May 15 shooting that injured two people.
At 1:45 a.m. ACSO Deputies responded to the shooting in the 2900 block of Stuarts Draft Highway.
On arrival Deputies found two 18-year-old males suffering from gunshot wounds.
Medical assistance was administered immediately with the victims being transported to the hospital with one victim later transported to UVA Medical Center.
It was determined that the first victim was seated in the front seat of a vehicle and had a single gunshot wound to his lower back.
The shooter was seated in the backseat during the incident and also suffered a gunshot wound to his hand.
Amvion Andre Barbour of Charlottesville was arrested without incident and charged with one count of felony reckless handling of a firearm.
The 18-year-old is currently being held without bond at the Middle River Regional Jail.
There was never any danger to the community as this appears to be an isolated incident.
