Authorities Investigate Fire at White Post Cottage
The 990 White Post Road blaze was reported at 5:54 a.m. on Thursday, November 22, 2018; flames and smoke were visible when a Clarke County Sheriff’s Office deputy arrived on scene, and firefighters responded fourteen minutes after receiving the call. The fire caused about $15,000-$20,000 in damage before first responders were able to extinguish it; they were able to prevent it from spreading to the property’s home. The cottage was being used by the homeowners for storage; the Clarke County fire marshal’s office is currently investigating the fire’s source.
