Battle of the Badges blood drive to benefit Red Cross
The event will benefit the American Red Cross who has faced a nationwide blood shortage in recent months.
The Battle of the Badges blood drive will be held at the Active Living Center in Jim Barnett Park at 1001 East Cork St. Friday, July 17 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Those who donate Friday will have their blood tested for COVID-19 antibodies as well. Individuals must make an appointment with the Red Cross in advance, no walk ups will be accepted. To schedule an appointment, call 1-800-RED-CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or visit RedCrossBlood.org and when prompted, give the sponsor code Battle20.
The team with the most donors “wins” the friendly competition, so donors are asked to mention whether they are attending for Team Winchester Fire & Rescue or Team Winchester Sheriff’s Office.
