The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Department (BCSD) report that they continue to investigate murder suspect David Antonio Calderon.

Working with the FBI information has come to light that Calderon has an extensive criminal history in his native El Salvador.

Arrest records show convictions of DUI, Sexual Assault/Murder, Aggravated Robbery, and narcotics related charges.

Calderon severed time in an El Salvador prison from 1999 to 2021.

Once released it is believed that Calderon entered the United States illegally to later attempt asylum in Canada only to be denied at the border.

Calderon is being investigated for his involvement with a body discovered in Martinsburg on May 6.

Calderon is incarcerated in Frederick County Virginia and fighting extradition to West Virginia.

Anyone with any information on Calderon or the May 6 investigation is asked to contact the BCSD at 304-267-7000.
