The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Department (BCSD) reports the investigation of 2 separate robberies in Martinsburg.

The break ins were at 2 separate businesses and not believed to be related.

The first was reported on June 12 at approximately 1:10 a.m.

The commercial burglar alarm sounded at the Penn Liquors store.

Two males wearing all black with one holding a handgun were able to remove items and flee the store on bicycles heading north.

At approximately 4:20 a.m. that same morning the Redeye Smoke Shop was robbed with the perpetrators using a large rock to break through the glass front door.

Three individuals wearing masks and hoodies carrying trash bags filled the bags with vapes and took money.

The three fled in a white Nissan Maxima and a Toyota Tundra that was seen on video leaving the store.

Neither vehicle showed any registration with the Nissan being recorded as stolen by West Virginia State Police license plate reader.

Anyone with information on either event is asked to contact the BCSD at 304-267-7000.
