Berkeley County authorities hand down a 158 count indictment

Berkeley County Prosecuting Attorney Catie Wilkes Deligatti announced that the recent increase in violent crime led to a total of a 158-count indictment of seven Berkeley County men.

As the result of months of police work authorities have seized 1,770 fentanyl pills and over $18,000 in cash.

The incidents that were investigated leading to the seizures were tied to both local and national gang activity.

The initial investigation stemmed from a shooting incident in the Tennessee Avenue area of Martinsburg.

In 2022 multiple gunshots were fired into residence and businesses.

Where multiple shots were fired no one was hit or hurt in the incident according to authorities.

The follow up investigations led to the arrest of 7 men in Berkeley County.
