Berryville Discusses Renovating Hogan’s Alley

30 September 2018 News

Berryville officials are hoping to turn Hogan’s Alley in downtown into a local gathering place.

Town government is working with Berryville Main Street, an organization dedicated to improving and promoting the downtown area, to make renovations to Hogan’s Alley, which runs from Main Street to the municipal parking lot on Crow Street. Town Manager Keith Dalton was quoted as saying that the goal is “to turn a pass-through into a more inviting public space.” A gradual project, initial changes would include the installation of planters and iron features. Over time, however, Hogan’s Alley could feature benches, strands of lights, a mural, and a plaque in honor of its namesake, former Town Manager John Hogan. According to Berryville Main Street Executive Director Lizzie Ryan, her organization has reserved $3,000 for the project.
