Bomb Hoax Triggers Search of Warren Public Schools

11 January 2019 Front Royal/Warren County News

A bomb hoax caused local law enforcement to search all Warren County Public Schools yesterday (1/10/2019).

The Warren County Sheriff’s Office was informed by the Front Royal Police Department of a possible threat at around 4 p.m.; the FRPD advised that an outside agency had alerted them to an email, believed to have originated in the Front Royal area, that read “Theirs a bomb at our school.” All Warren County Public Schools were searched, and at around 6:30 p.m. further investigation determined that the email was actually sent by a Frederick County resident as a hoax. The incident is currently being investigated by both the Frederick County and Warren County Sheriff’s Offices. In a release, Sheriff Danny T. McEathron stated that there is no immediate concern for public safety.
