Bowie Knife and Meth Pipe Found Inside Stolen Strasburg Car

10 August 2018 News

Strasburg Police arrested a man early Tuesday morning after he was discovered in possession of a car that didn’t belong to him, a large Bowie knife, and drugs.

33-year-old Mack Tolbert was discovered after a woman residing in the 200 block of Stonewall Street reported that her car had gone missing. The woman, whose identity was not revealed, told authorities where she believed Tolbert had gone; they later discovered him in the 2900 block of John Marshall Highway, where he had left the car in a store parking lot and entered a residence. Tolbert had evidently swapped the car’s plates with those from another vehicle. Law enforcement also discovered the knife and what appeared to be a meth pipe inside.

Tolbert faces six separate charges, including carrying a concealed weapon, driving with a revoked driver’s license, displaying fictitious plates, possession of a schedule I or II drug, grand larceny in the theft of a vehicle, and a second larceny for the theft of plates from another vehicle. He is currently being held in RSW Regional Jail.
