Bright Green Contamination Discovered in Warren County Creek
23 January 2018 News
On the evening of Sunday, January 21st, Warren County Fire and Rescue units were alerted to a possible hazmat spill in the area of Warren Avenue and Fantasyland Park. Units arrived to find the storm water discharge creek was bright green in color.
The source of the contamination was a car wash facility on North Royal Avenue. A leaking hose carrying a clear coat protectant was found leaking into the storm water system. The leak was stopped, and it was determined that there were no wildlife hazards. While most of the chemical was removed as part of the cleanup process, residents may still notice a green tint to areas of the creek for several days.
