C-CAP Celebrates 40th Anniversary with Dinner
25 April 2018 News
The Front Royal Warren County Congregational Community Action Project held a dinner Saturday to honor its volunteers and celebrate 40 years of feeding and clothing families in need across the community.
C-CAP’s annual report was distributed during this event, and showed a stagnation in the amount of clients requesting assistance from the organization; they served over 2,700 people last year, down 30 people from 2016 and over 300 people from 2015.
C-CAP President Larry Elliott referred to those no longer in need of service as “C-CAP graduates” last night, and thanked his volunteers for their work in making this self-reliance possible by giving them silver dove pendants from Jean’s Jewelers. Elliott announced that the doves, a tribute to the organization’s symbol, will also be sold privately at Jean’s Jewelers, with a portion of her profits for each sold funding C-CAP’s efforts.
