Call before you go on this Juneteenth federal holiday weekend

As Jun. 19 falls on a Saturday this year many agencies and businesses have already announced they are closed today June 18 to honor the Juneteenth holiday.

Frederick County Government Offices as well as Winchester Frederick County joint Judicial Center announced they are closed today Jun. 18.

To ensure the agency or business you hope to visit is open you should call ahead as Juneteenth becomes an official federal holiday.

The holiday is being recognized as it was the last day of slavery in the United States back in 1865.
