Clarke County Adopts $43.4 Million Budget

Clarke County’s Board of Supervisors adopted its $43.4 million budget Tuesday (4/16/2019) for the 2020 fiscal year, which begins on July 1st.

The largest features of the budget are $11.3 million that will be appropriated towards the county’s general fund, and the $27 million being appropriated towards its schools: $23.8 million for the school operating fund, $2.5 million for the school debt service fund, and $676,000 for the school capital projects fund. The budget’s tax rate resolution keeps tax rates steady in the county, including Clarke’s real estate tax of 71 cents per $100 of assessed value.
