Clarke County Crash Kills Stephens City Man
State police are investigating a fatal Clarke County crash that killed one Stephens City man Monday (4/29/2019) morning.
30-year-old White Post resident Melissa Welsh was traveling south on Route 340 at 8:30 a.m. when she attempted a left turn onto Route 658. Her Nissan Altima collided with a northbound Ford Ranger, causing it to overturn. The incident killed Welsh’s passenger, 42-year-old Walter J. Mott III. The Ranger’s driver was not injured, and Welsh suffered minor injuries. She has been charged with failure to yield right of way as Virginia State Police continue to investigate the crash.
