Clarke Historical Preservation Commission Gives Awards

The Clarke County Historical Preservation Commission has announced the recipients of its Historic Preservation Awards.

The awards recognize individuals who have worked to preserve and maintain historic structures that help define the county’s cultural identity. This year, a certificate of merit will go to Alain and Celeste Borel for bringing the historic Mount Airy property to life, Page Carter for rehabilitating structures at 1959 Millwood Road, and White Post Restorations and its employee Donnie Carver. Donald and Mary Shockey have won the Stewardship Award as well for preserving Callander Farm and Walnut Hall. All will receive their awards in a ceremony on Wednesday, May 15, 2019.
