Clarke Sheriff’s Office Arrests Two After Armed Robbery

A drug-related armed robbery took place in Clarke County Wednesday afternoon.

The incident occurred in the 800 block of Summit Point Road in Berryville; according to a release, the Clarke County Sheriff’s Office received a call at 1:08 p.m.  from a witness who saw several individuals drive up in a black vehicle, exit with a pistol, and rob a man in his driveway. The victim, Saulo Alain Moralaes-Hidalgo, had had cocaine and a large sum of money with him at the time of the robbery. He was arrested for possession of cocaine with intent to distribute.

The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office arrested a suspect shortly after the robbery following a traffic stop in Winchester. 18-year-old Victor Hernandez, who knew the victim, currently faces charges for  drug possession and possession of a firearm with a tampered serial number. He is expected to face additional charges as the Clarke County Sheriff’s Office investigation continues.
