Collaborative effort apprehends a murder suspect

A collaborative effort by Fauquier and Culpeper Sheriff’s Offices, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department and U.S. Secret Service led to the arrest of a murder suspect in Warrenton.

The Fauquier Sheriff’s Office press release reports that a warrant was issued in the Mar. 19 homicide investigation in Charlotte North Carolina for 42-year-old Javier Torres Diaz.

Fauquier authorities were alerted to Torres Diaz’s location by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police who  tracked him to a motel in Warrenton.

Torres Diaz is being held without bond in the Fauquier detention center awaiting extradition to North Carolina.

The ongoing investigation in Charlotte revolves around the death of 25-year-old Juan Carlos Perez of which Torres Diaz in implicated.
