November 27, 2019

FRONT ROYAL – A crash involving three vehicles shut down a busy intersection along Winchester Rd. in Warren County yesterday morning.

Jake H. Thomasson was traveling south on Route 522 when his Chevy S-10 pickup truck veered off the road at the intersection between 522 and Guard Hill Rd. Thomasson’s truck collided with a box truck that was sitting at the intersection in the left hand turning lane. The impact caused the box truck to push over onto a passenger vehicle that was in the right hand turn lane. The crash then blocked off the intersection onto Winchester Rd.

Thomasson was flown to INOVA Hospital in Fairfax due to his injuries. He is currently in stable but critical condition. No other drivers were injured in the crash. The intersection was cleared by 11:30 am yesterday morning.

Front Royal Police Department is investigating the crash. If you have further information regarding the vehicle collision, contact Officer J. Noland at 540-635-2111 or through email at jnoland@frontroyalva.com.
