Crews Across Shenandoah Valley Respond to Edinburg Fire

9 March 2017 News

Around 1:00pm yesterday, March 8, fire and rescue crews throughout the Shenandoah Valley were dispatched to a structure fire in Edinburg. Crews arrived at 60 Hillcrest Road to find heavy fire coming from the side of the building and fire through the roof. Crews began a defensive operation utilizing the service from multiple lines.

The residents, Sue and Jim Kollester, were inside the home at the time of the fire. They and their pets, two dogs and two birds, all made it out of the home safe and unharmed. Reportedly the home was just built in 2016 and the residents had just moved in at the start of the new year.

An initial cause of the fire has not been determined but is under investigation. An estimation on loss of value was also not available but the home is believed to be a total loss.
