DMV recognizes Winchester for zero road deaths
The Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) has recognized several jurisdictions across Virginia for achieving zero traffic deaths in 2019 and or 2020.
Virginia is an active participant in the national “Toward Zero Deaths” Initiative.
The initiative brings together engineering, enforcement, educational and emergency medical services professionals to work toward a goal of eliminating all traffic fatalities.
Areas achieving zero traffic fatalities in 2019 include the City of Harrisonburg and Staunton.
The City of Winchester achieved zero traffic deaths for both 2019 and 2020 along with Manassas Park and Falls Church among others.
