Dogs Will Be Part of Front Royal Memorial Day

28 May 2017 News

The Town of Front Royal Memorial Day Ceremony is scheduled for Monday May 29 starting at noon at the Gazebo on the Town Square along Main Street.

There will be a laying of a wreath by Mayor Hollis Tharpe and two military representatives in honor of Memorial Day. The Skyline High School Band will play.

The Front Royal ceremony is unique because it also pays homage to the role of military dogs in wartime. The one-hour ceremony will again include a “parade of dogs” to honor the canine heroes of war.

The Front Royal Memorial Day Celebration is organized by Malcolm Barr and Robert MacDougall.
