Drive-by Shooting in Winchester Townhouse Development

A Winchester townhouse development was rocked Friday night by a drive-by shooting. The incident occurred in the Brookland Heights development in the 200 block of Parkside Drive. Nobody was injured, but bullets fired around 11:10 p.m. Friday night, November 16, 2018, struck four vehicles and two townhouses. Police collected 13 shell cases from the scene of the crime in all, ten of which were fired from a .40 caliber semi-automatic pistol while the other three appeared to be from a 9 mm semi-automatic pistol. Frederick County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Lt. Keith Covert was quoted as stating that witnesses saw a white vehicle leave the scene, and that it’s believed to be the getaway car. The incident is currently under investigation.
