Electrical Fire in Luther Crest Senior Living Community
9 December 2017 News
Three floors of the Luther Crest Senior Living Community on Commerce Street in New Market were evacuated on Wednesday, December 6, due to an electrical fire. It’s estimated that at least 36 senior citizens were cleared from the building; after about a half hour outside in the cold, police moved the evacuees into the community’s activity room.
Some units will reportedly be undergoing electrical repairs for a few days, temporarily displacing eight residents. Five are staying with family and friends, and the remaining three are being assisted by American Red Cross.
