Escaped Inmate Last Seen in Luray Area

4 February 2019 Luray/Page County News

Authorities continue to search for a Shenandoah Valley inmate who escaped custody Friday afternoon.

33-year-old Donald Franklin Estes was serving a sentence for third offense petit larceny out of Rockingham County at the time of his escape; he failed to return from a work-release assignment in Hinton, and was last seen in the Luray area. Estes is 6 feet tall, weighs about 180 pounds, and has a peace sign tattoo on his right hand and various others on his forearms. As the U.S. Marshals Service and local law enforcement agencies continue their search, they ask that anyone with information on Estes’ whereabouts contact the Middle River Regional Jail at 540-245-5420, or local law enforcement via 911.
