UPDATE: Escaped NRADC Inmate Caught in Winchester

Authorities have captured an inmate who escaped custody during a work release in Winchester.

Michael Scott Crum, an inmate at the Northwest Regional Adult Detention Center serving time for a DUI and eluding police, was doing yard work near Papermill Road, Shawnee Drive, and I-81 on Tuesday (4/30/2019) when he walked off the work site. Yesterday, May 1st, he was spotted near the dumpster of the 7-Eleven at 1026 Millwood Pike by a Frederick County Sheriff’s Deputy. Crum led the deputy on a foot pursuit around the Delco Plaza Shop ‘n Save, but finally gave up and was arrested without incident in the field near the Millwood Fire and Rescue Station. Charges of escape and obstruction are being pursued.
