Houlihan’s Restaurant “Plating it Forward” for Non-Profit: Their Voice Rescue
July 15 @ 11:00 am - 10:00 pm
Nonprofit dog rescue, Their Voice Rescue, located in Delaplane, Virginia, is paw-tnering up with Front Royal Houlihan’s Restaurant (101 Hospitality Dr., Holiday Inn-Blue Ridge Shadows, Front Royal, VA 22630) on Sunday, July 15 for a special fundraiser event.
“On behalf of Houlihan’s, we feel very privileged to be able to give back to the community, to the nonprofit organizations that give back to others,” said Sales Manager SallyAnn Chandler, who has a rescue dog. “Too many dogs out there in need of their forever home. Before they get there, they need supplies. If we can be a small part of helping them before then, I feel we are very privileged to do so.”
From 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Houlihan’s is generously donating 15 percent of all food proceeds to Their Voice Rescue, offering its support for the 501c3 nonprofit animal rescue serving the Northern Virginia area, and beyond.
“We are so thankful to our community, and to Houlihan’s, for supporting the cause of giving a voice to animals in need as we work to save our canine friends from high-risk kill shelters,” said Their Voice Rescue representative Ellen Furhken. “Animals give us so much, and we want to help them by giving them a voice.”
Houlihan’s started its “Plate it Forward” initiative at the end of 2017, and has been able to accommodate many charities since. To participate, diners can either print and bring in a flyer that will be available later this week, or they can let their server know that they are dining and taking part in the Their Voice Rescue fundraising event. On their receipt, it will show that 15 percent of all food proceeds will benefit Their Voice Rescue, which will receive the funds in less than two weeks to help the many dogs that depend on the rescue for a second chance.
The initiative has been incredibly popular with nonprofits, Chandler explained, noting that the company values giving back to those who give to the community.
