Shenandoah County Heritage Day

The 16th annual Shenandoah County Heritage Day will be held Saturday, April 13th, 11AM until 3PM at the Mt. Jackson Town Hall. This year’s theme is “Our Small Towns,” and will focus on ten communities, including Moore’s Store, Jerome, Headquarters, Detrick, Harrisville, and others.

The histories of these communities and the families of those who lived and worked in them will be presented with exhibits. At 12:30 the Virginia Tech Community Design Assistance Center will present their book “Lost Communities of Virginia.” At 2pm local historian Bill Wine will describe his research in preparing a historical map of Shenandoah County.
